At a glance

The Classical Conversations Foundations program is a vibrant, community-based community for Pre-K through 6th grade students that makes the grammar stage of education both fun and easy. In this stage, children naturally soak up information like sponges, Foundations focuses on building a massive treasury of core facts through songs, games, and weekly practice.

Abcedarians

Ages: 4-6

This is the youngest age group. The focus is entirely on gentle introduction, socialization, and having fun with the memory work through play, simple songs, and show-and-tell rather than rigorous academic pressure.

Journeymen

Ages: 7-9

These students generally can do more table work, while still participating in songs, games, and movement exercises to help learn.

Masters

Ages: 10-12

Older students tackle the same memory cycles as younger kids, but participate with higher expectations for mastery, leadership, and public speaking.

What Memory Work is Covered?

  • History: Timeline events and world history sentences

  • Science: Scientific facts, laws, and anatomy

  • Geography: Continents, countries, physical features, and map drawing

  • English Grammar: Parts of speech and grammar rules

  • Math: Skip counting, multiplication tables, geometric formulas, and conversions

  • Latin: Noun declensions, verb endings, and vocabulary

During Community Days:

Students meet in classes and learn from one of our tutors.  Students will learn the new week's memory work, practice public speaking, participate in art and music appreciation, as well as conduct weekly science projects.

The 3 Cycles Explained

The curriculum rotates on a three-year cycle—covering ancient history, medieval history, and modern world history respectively—so students can cycle through the same rich subjects multiple times as they grow.
